School District
The Valley-Edinburg School District was formed through the consolidation of the Edinburg and Valley school systems. Today, it serves students from several rural communities, including Edinburg, Gardner, Mountain, Hoople, Crystal, and Union.

School Structure
The district’s educational facilities are organized by grade level across three locations:
- VE Primary (Pre-K to Grade 2) – Hoople
- VE Intermediate (Grades 3–6) – Crystal
- VE Secondary (Grades 7–12) – Edinburg
This restructuring reflects a regional effort to streamline educational services and optimize student learning environments. Community response has been supportive, with educators and families expressing enthusiasm for the improved access to facilities and programs.
Athletic Identity
For over five years before formal consolidation, Edinburg and Valley maintained a cooperative athletic program. Under the shared team name “Titans”, students from both schools have participated in volleyball, boys’ basketball, and girls’ basketball. This collaboration has fostered teamwork and school pride across district lines.
School Participation Programs
The Box Tops for Education program remains an active way for families and community members to support the Valley-Edinburg School District. However, the program has transitioned from collecting physical labels to a fully digital format.
Participants now use the Box Tops mobile app to scan receipts from qualifying purchases. The app automatically applies earnings to the selected school, eliminating the need to cut out and submit packaging.
This updated process allows for quicker submissions and broader participation while continuing to provide schools with additional funding for educational supplies and activities.
Note: The former “Labels for Education” program by Campbell’s has been discontinued and is no longer accepted by schools.
Preserving School History

Inside the Valley-Edinburg High School, a trophy case displays awards and memorabilia from past sporting events. Items related to the former “Spartans” mascot remain preserved as part of the school’s pre-consolidation legacy. The collection offers a visual record of athletic achievement spanning generations.
A Place for Learning
The Valley-Edinburg High School library serves as a central learning space for students in grades 7 through 12. It provides access to books, digital resources, and a quiet environment for reading, research, and academic preparation.
“If you only read the books that everyone else is reading… You can only think what everyone else is thinking.”
