Education

A whole new era has begun!  The Edinburg and Valley School Districts have consolidated.  They are now known as the Valley-Edinburg District.  Students have home addresses from Edinburg, Gardar, Mountain, Hoople, Crystal and Union.

Edinburg and Valley have been in an athletic cooperative in volleyball and boys and girls basketball for the last 5 years.  They are known as the "Titans".

The new line up is grades K- 4 are in Hoople, grades 5- 8 are in Crystal and 9-12 are in Edinburg.  Everyone seems to be very excited with this new consolidation.

The "Friends and Alumni of the Edinburg School" is no longer in existence.  The FAAES account has been closed with the last dollars going to Judy Olafson's Family and Comsumer Science department.  She was able to purchase 2 good used sewing machines as well as one used sewing cabinet for her department.

The FAASE was such an important factor for the Edinburg School system and did SO much good for the school.  Lots of money was raised by interested alumni and through other means.  It was a wonderful endeavor.

A very special thank you goes to Lin Thorson for always keeping me updated about all the activities of FAASE.  The organization truly was a wonderful gift to the Edinburg School  System.

The Edinburg School is now collecting Campbell's Soup Labels - Labels for Education and also the Box Tops for Education - off cereal boxes, Kleenex, etc.  Saving these labels and giving them to the school will be most appreciated.  To find out more about the Campbell Program go to" www.labelsforeducation.com  or  www.boxtops4education.com

Thank you for your support of this program.

Eileen Rinde is the new Business Manager of the new Valley-Edinburg school district.

The Library at the school is full of information for students.

Judy Olafson is the FACS teacher.  FACS stands for Family and Consumer Science.

There are quite a few computers available for students at the high school.
